# GMT 6.5 released

The GMT team is pleased to announce the 6.5.0 release via GitHub [Releases](https://github.com/GenericMappingTools/gmt/releases/tag/6.5.0). Apart from numerous bug fixes, there are two new supplements gsfml (the [Global Sea Floor and Magnetic Lineations](http://www.soest.hawaii.edu/PT/GSFML/)) and windbarb (plot meteorology wind barbs from grids or tables), some new options and new modifiers to existing modules.
