Try an example from the documentation and let us know what isn’t working: [https://www.pygmt.org/latest/projections/azim/azim\_lambert.html#sphx-glr-projections-azim-azim-lambert-py](https://www.pygmt.org/latest/projections/azim/azim_lambert.html#sphx-glr-projections-azim-azim-lambert-py)
For a rectangular map, modify the parameters as shown here: [https://docs.generic-mapping-tools.org/6.4/cookbook/map-projections.html#ja](https://docs.generic-mapping-tools.org/6.4/cookbook/map-projections.html#ja)

I have used the frame argument with frame=“afg” (automatic, frame, grid) but the plot is only showing grid but not tick labels.

I believe annotations are only supported for rectangular regions (-R with modifier +r).
