**My** preference would be to :

- darken a little the gridlines (`--MAP_GRID_PEN_PRIMARY=thin,gray,dashed`)
- compress the y-axis so the gridlines would look more squared (`-JX`_size\_x_/_size\_y_)
- increase the size of the dots (`-Sc`_size_)
