Apple M2 Chip compatibility?

Hi all - long time GMT user (circa 1994), first time GMT Forum poster.

I’m trying to run the precompiled GMT-6.4.0 on an Apple M2 Chip MacBook Air and received the following message.

“GMT-6.4.0” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.
This software needs to be updated. Contact the developer for more information.
This item is on the disk image “gmt-6.4.0-darwin-arm64.dmg”.

Is this expected behavior? Suggestions?

The apple nazi gatekeeper. Instead of double click, do right click and select open.
