I would like to make heatmaps in GMT something similar to what is shown below. Is it possible to do so ? seaborn-heatmap-4

The map, off course. Before the heat wave they were known for > 30 years as images from grids or whatever (the grdimage world). The axes labels though, may give a little more work.

Yes, it worked nicely. In fact the annotation was easily done using -Bsxc and -Bsyc- for both axes. option.
