Makecpt fails on some palettes

Using GMT 5.5; makecpt fails on some palettes giving following error

makecpt: Error: CPT gray.cpt has no z-slices!

[Session gmt (0)]: Error returned from GMT API: GMT_CPT_READ_ERROR (8)

Offending command:
gmt makecpt -Cgray -T-250/250/50 -Z > gray.cpt

This has been working recently. Can’t figure out problem. Tried multiple color palettes. Some work. Some give this error. Tried different max/min/step combinations.

OK. More stuff I did.
Restart computer. Nope.
Reinstall GMT5.5. Nope.
Fired up GMT6.5 and ran makecpt. That worked. Maybe makecpt busted in older version.
Ran makecpt in GMT5.5 again (because I am lazy and know the old scripts). It worked.
I know nothing.

Get rid of this guy. The docs say 5.5 scripts run fine in 6.5

Yeah, you’re right.
But I’m still scratching my head trying to figure out what broke. My money is on a corrupted path somewhere.

If it happens again, use the option -Vd to see better where it starts to fail.

OK. Thanks for the suggestion.
