Dear fellows of the GMT kingdom,
First of all, sorry if this is a dumb question. I am using grdview with -JM5i and -JZ1i and am wondering how can the amount of vertical exaggeration be estimated for this combination? I am a bit confused about the Mercator projection here but I think this should be:
Horizontal scale of 5 inches/mile = 316800 inches
Vertical scale of 1 inch/foot = 12 inches
so, the vertical exaggeration is 26400 times
This seems to be a “too exaggerated” vertical exaggeration… do these numbers make sense? I appreciate your support as always.
