I’m a developer at EarthScope and am exploring GMT. I’ve followed the homebrew process to install GMT on my macbook and have worked through a few tutorials. I’m looking into setting up a development environment. I saw there was some discussiong about 3 years ago about trying to reduce the hurdles for new developers but I didn’t see pointers to any of the fruit that might have come out from that discussion. Before I jump into it, I wanted to see if there were any new tips or suggestions I should be aware of that might help things go more smoothly or at least take advantage of others’ lessons learned.
I am using VSCode on a Sequoia macbook M3.
Thanks,
Solar
Hi Solar,
It’s been many years since I built GMT on Macs. The Homebrew recipe should be OK and nothing new has been set up. Except maybe the Github CI scripts. Have a look at gmt/ci at master · GenericMappingTools/gmt · GitHub
When fill like killing bugs, we have one in the Solar module.
